Nominal Account Ranges

To distinguish between income and expenditure, for example, the Sage nominal accounts need to be classified into ranges.  This is normally only required to be set up once and should not need changing.  Select:

Settings > System Settings > Nominal Account Ranges

The ranges are inclusive and for ‘Income’, ‘Expenditure’ and ‘Balance Sheet’ ranges; there should be no gaps.  The ‘Fixed Assets’ and ‘Balance Sheet Funds’ are sub-ranges of the ‘Balance Sheet’ range.
