Income & Expenditure by Department

The Expenditure by Department shows period and year to date figures in two formats: a summary format that shows one line per department or a detailed format that shows each department on a separate page with one line per nominal account within department.

For the ‘year to date’ columns either the full year budget, or the budget to the period selected can be selected.  The detailed format may be emailed if required. 

This provides a briefer alternative to the 'Budget Monitoring with Transactions’ if transactions are not needed.

It is also possible to show the current commitments on the report, however extreme caution is advised if this is selected; it will be the commitments in Sage at the point in time when the report is run, NOT the ‘as at’ date selected for the report.

Selection Criteria

The report can be run by selecting Department Category and/or Department and/or Nominal Account.  Running by just Department Category will allow selection of just ‘Curriculum’ departments, for example.                                

Budget

For year to date comparison either the full year budget can be displayed or alternatively the budget up to the period selected.

Include Capital Expenditure

Tick to include capital expenditure.  See Capital Expenditure for a full explanation.

Include Current Committed

Selecting this option will include the CURRENT commitments (which almost certainly won’t be the commitments as at the end of the reporting period).

This option only really makes sense if the period being reported is the current month, or the month that has just finished and no orders and supplier invoices have been processed since the month end.
