Nominal Account / Fund Mapping

If the system is configured to use funds defined within the Academy System, the method of attributing income and expenditure to funds is to link each nominal account with a fund type.  For example all nominal accounts for depreciation will normally be associated with the 'Fixed Asset Fund', whereas 'Audit Costs' would be associated with 'Restricted General Funds' (GAG).

To link each nominal account with a fund, select:

Settings > Funds and Nominal Mappings > Funds

Nominal Account - Fund Mapping

All nominal accounts for the academy will be displayed automatically in the left two columns.

For each nominal account, select the appropriate fund from the drop-down list. The funds shown in the drop-down list will be the funds added previously.

If you find that one particular nominal account could potentially be associated with more than one fund, the answer is to create specific nominal accounts in Sage for each fund, and name them unambigously so that it will be obvious to users of Sage which account to post transactions.
