Navigation Ribbon

The method of navigating the Dayta Academy System is through a 'Ribbon' at the top of the Dayta Academy System screen.

The Ribbon is split into a number of 'tabs' and each tab split into a number of 'groups', as shown below.

Within each tab/group there are a number of buttons, which, when clicked will open the relevant form.

The beauty of the ribbon is that no 'menu' choice is more than 2 clicks away.

Depending on a number of factors, such as user permissions and system configuration, the ribbon will hide or reveal tabs, groups and buttons. For example, in the above screen shot there is a tab titled 'New Financial Year Management Reports'; this is only displayed after a financial year end has been passed but the actual financial year end process not yet carried out, allowing reporting on both the unclosed prior year and the current financial year.

Whenever a form is opened all buttons on the ribbon are 'greyed-out', but will all be re-enabled once the form is closed.

A different ribbon is displayed when a report is previewed, allowing selection of specific print options (such printer selection and setup as well as export to pdf).

When describing how to access the various ribbon buttons, the convention in this documentation is to show the choice in Tab > Group > Button sequence, as in the following example for accessing the 'Expenditure by Department' report.
