 SoFA & Balance Sheet Mappings

This form has two tabs, one for the ‘Statement of Financial Activities’ and the other for the ‘Balance Sheet’.

On the ‘Statement of Financial Activities’ tab, all nominal accounts that fall within the range for Income and Expenditure (as defined by the ‘Nominal Account Ranges’) are shown.  For each nominal account a ‘Detailed SoFA Section’ must be selected from the drop-down list.  The options in the drop-down list are maintained by Dayta with reference to the ‘Coketown’ exemplar, which, in turn, dictate the entry in the ‘Summary SoFA Section’.

Similarly, the ‘Balance Sheet’ tab shows all nominal accounts within the balance sheet range of accounts.  For each nominal account a 'Detailed Section’ must be selected from the drop-down list, this will automatically complete the ‘Summary Section’.

If any new nominal account is added in Sage, it is essential that the mapping is completed using this option.

For new systems where Dayta has supplied both Sage (with its model chart of accounts) and Academy Reports the mappings will be populated with Dayta’s interpretation of the Accounts Directions requirements, however it is strongly recommended that these mappings are reviewed and confirmed, or amended, by your auditors.  Dayta Designs Ltd takes no responsibility for these mappings.

For multi-academy trusts with more than one Sage company with the same, or similar, nominal accounts, the SOFA and Balance Sheet mappings may be copied from another academy that has already been mapped.  To do this, click the ‘Copy from another Academy’ button and select the source academy from the drop-down list.
