Transactions - Without Fund References

Management Reports > Data Integrity Checks > Transactions without Fund Refs

The SOFA report relies on all transactions posted to an income or expenditure nominal account having a Fund Reference allocated to it. It is easy to post a transaction to Sage and omit a Fund Reference. This report identifies those transactions, showing the Sage transaction number which helps in making corrections relatively simple.

Most transactions can have a Fund Reference added by using the Corrections facility in Sage.  The one exception to this is nominal journals.  To correct nominal journals, the original journal must be reversed and a new journal entered with a Fund Reference.  A consequence of this is that the original journal and the reversed journal will always be reported (because they don’t have a fund reference in both cases).  These transactions effectively cancel each other and can therefore be ignored once corrected.  To make the report easier to read, the report can be started at a selected Sage transaction number – by entering the Sage transaction number immediately after any nominal journal correction will exclude these unnecessary transactions.  Once entered the system will remember the transaction number ready for the next time the report is run.

It is recommended that this report is run at least once a month.
